"Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven."  Matthew 5:15-17

Just Be the Church

Our Third Annual Christmas Project (12/12/09) is all about touching the lives of families in the South West Quadrant and Hamilton County. We know there are many families that could use a helping hand to make their holiday a bit more joyful.
Along with our other Christmas at the Creek partners, we will turn DeerCreek into a "Christmas Department Store" where registered families will have the opportunity to “shop” for free.
For us, as Christians, the holiday is about so much more than the presents. It’s about the GIFT that God gave us through His Son; and that is WHY we want to help these families.
Being a part of sharing the true Gift of God’s love and showing these families that someone cares about them is a way for all of us to share the gift that we have received in Jesus. By reaching out and being friends, even for just an hour or two, we can share the true JOY of the season and put CHRIST back in Christ-mas!

Christmas at the Creek Partners

Countdown to Christmas at the Creek:
NOW
- Please be praying for every aspect of our event - the details, planning, volunteers, gift & food   collection and most importantly for the families that will be blessed this year.
NOW - Start shopping!  Shop for toys and gifts for any age (up to 18).  Our motto is if it makes you smile it will bless someone at Christmas at the Creek.  Call or email if you would like for us to pick up your gifts.
Sunday, 11/29/09 - Decorating for Christmas at the Creek. Meet at DC3 at 11:30am
Monday, 12/7/09 - VOLUNTEER MEETING. 7pm at DeerCreek.  Everyone who is volunteering is asked to attend this meeting.
Wednesday, 12/9/09 - ORGANIZING the STORE. 7pm at DeerCreek.  This is our big time of sorting and organizing all the gifts and food.  All are welcome - IT IS A LOT OF FUN!
Saturday, 12/12/09 - CHRISTMAS AT THE CREEK.
8am - 4pm(ish).  If volunteering all day or morning shift, please arrive by 8am for prayer and to get everyone in their areas.
